Strategic Overview of Teaching and Learning

National Schools Support

Academy Conversion

My teaching career began in Exeter in 1985 where I was teaching Geography and PE to all ages in a local secondary school. Moving to Worcestershire I joined the PRU and managed two pupil referral units out of special measures.

In 2007 I moved to St Clement’s C of E School where, on arrival at the school, it was a category 4 school with 33% of its pupils at national expectation (SATS 2007). Last year we had 92% of pupils gaining a combined level 4, with St Clement’s being judged as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in November 2012. During my time at St Clements I have supported numerous schools in Ofsted categories all of which have been graded good or better by Ofsted. I went onto to become a Lead and Additional Inspector as well as becoming a Local and National Leader of Education.

In 2013 I took on the role of Executive Head over two schools and then moved to become Executive Principal of The Rivers Academy Trust in 2014.

I am a driven individual that thrives on a challenge and believe school leadership and school to school support are essential in order to drive school improvement and ensure better outcomes for children.
